Leather repairs
What can and cannot be brought back.
Can cracked leather be repaired?
Usually, yes — it depends how deep the cracking goes. Most cracking on furniture is in the surface finish rather than the hide itself, and that fills and recolours well. Where cracks have gone through the leather and it has become brittle, a surface repair will not restore strength. Photographs tell us which of the two you have.
Leather restorationCan faded leather colour be restored?
In most cases yes. Fading affects the pigment and topcoat, and recolouring rebuilds that layer, matched to an unworn part of the same piece. Uneven fading — one arm paler than the other from sunlight through a window — is one of the most common jobs we take on.
Leather colour repairCan you repair a leather burn?
Yes. The damaged material is cleared away, the void filled and levelled, grain texture worked back in, and the area colour-matched to the leather around it. Burns in the middle of a flat panel repair more cleanly than burns on a seam or a sharp edge.
Leather restorationIs it better to repair or replace damaged leather?
If the frame is sound and the damage is on the surface, repair is almost always better value — the structure of a sofa routinely outlasts its covering. If the hide has perished across the whole piece, replacement may genuinely be the better answer, and we will say so rather than quote for work that will not hold.
Seats, springs and cushions
When the problem is underneath the covering.
Can sagging sofa seats be repaired?
Usually. The repair depends on what has actually failed — collapsed cushion filling, stretched webbing or broken springs all feel similar from above but need different work. The seat has to be examined from underneath to be sure.
Sofa spring and sagging seat repairCan broken sofa springs be fixed?
Yes. Broken springs are replaced and refixed to the frame, and loose fixings are made good at the same time — a new spring in a failed fixing will not last. Where several springs have gone, renewing the whole run is often better value than replacing them one by one.
Sofa spring and sagging seat repairDo you repair fabric furniture as well as leather?
For spring, webbing and seat repairs, yes — that work is about the structure underneath, so the covering material makes little difference. Colour and surface restoration is leather only.
Car seats
Leather car interiors and how they differ.
Do you repair leather car seats?
Yes. Worn driver-side bolsters are the most common request, along with cracking, scuffs, burns and colour loss. Automotive leather is finished differently to furniture hide, and many interiors mix leather with vinyl, so identifying the trim is part of the assessment.

How do I get a quote?
Fill in the enquiry form with a short description of the damage and attach photographs. We will come back to you with a quotation and an honest view of the result to expect. Quotations are free and there is no obligation.
Get a free quoteDo I need to send photos?
It is not compulsory, but it makes a real difference. Photographs are what let us quote accurately without arranging a visit first. The most useful set is a close-up of the worst damage, a shot of the whole piece for context, and everything taken in daylight rather than under a lamp.
How long does a repair take?
It depends on the piece and how many separate repairs it needs. Filling and colour stages each have to cure before the next one goes on, so the work is paced by the materials rather than by us. We give you a realistic timescale with the quotation, once we have seen what is involved.
How accurate is the price calculator?
It is a guide, not a quotation. The calculator works from the item, the type of repair and the number of seats, but the real cost depends on how large and how deep the damage is — which a form cannot capture. Treat the figure as a rough bracket and send photographs for an accurate price.

Coverage and how repairs are carried out.
What areas do you cover?
We are based at South Hetton in east Durham and cover County Durham, Tyne and Wear and Teesside — including Durham, Sunderland, Newcastle, Washington, Peterlee, South Shields, Jarrow, Hebburn, Darlington and Middlesbrough. If you are not sure whether you are in range, send your postcode with the enquiry.
Areas we coverDo you work in my home or take the furniture away?
Most repairs are carried out in your home, which avoids moving large furniture through narrow doorways and stairwells. Where a job genuinely needs workshop conditions we will say so before you commit to anything.
